Welcome to the Winfield Media Center!
Media Staff:

Mission Statement:
The school library media program will inspire students to think critically, to create lifelong learners, and to encourage a love for reading.
Vision Statement:
The school library media program will prepare students to become motivated, hard-working, and responsible students who focus on learning and increasing their academic knowledge and success.
Checkout procedures:
Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade: one book/checkout every week
3rd, 4th, 5th grade: two books/checkout every other week
After unpacking in the classroom, students are welcome to come to the media center any morning during the week between 9:00-9:25 am to return or renew media books.
Lions Club:
Thank you once again to the Winfield-Taylorsville Lions Club for donating money to the Winfield Media Center. This year they donated $500, which allows us to buy many books that we may otherwise not have had in the Media Center. Thank you!

Battle of the Books
Information has been shared with all 4th and 5th grade teams! Permission forms should be turned into Ms. Stitely by November 30th, 2022. Teams should be between 5-9 students. Please check out Carroll County Public Library for more information!

Sign up starts June 1st! Students received information about this program during the CCPL Summer Books Talks. Game Boards were sent home in students' report cards!
Earn points! Win prizes!
Please click on the Beanstack Reading Program link and sign up for the Carroll County Public Library reading program! You can keep track of how many minutes/hours you are reading per day. Remember, reading makes you smarter and can take you to new places!
This is set up the same as our summer reading programs from previous years. If you don’t know/remember your reading account from information (if you signed up for one) you can choose "forgot password" and have it emailed to you. You can also set up a new account.
Guidelines for Summer Reading to earn points:
15 minutes of reading or one book title = 10 points
A written or picture review = 10 points
Explore, Create, or Library activities = 10 points
300 points completes the program - readers win a book donated by Random House AND an entry into an Amazon gift card after July 15th.
Readers can continue to log and will receive another book at 1000 points and an online entry into a $100 Amazon gift card. There will be biweekly gift card raffles.
